FAQs

SisuBloom is an online learning adventure designed to equip children and teens aged 6-17 with essential life skills. Think of it as a supercharged book club, where learning meets fun, and neuroscience meets essential real-world skills such as financial literacy, resilience, goal setting, and emotional intelligence. Our programme uses a book club approach to foster learning and includes hands-on projects, interactive lessons, and capstone projects in every module.

The programme is designed for children aged 6-17, divided into four age groups (6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17). Whether your child wants to improve academic performance, build financial awareness, or develop essential life skills like resilience and public speaking, SisuBloom provides a supportive environment for growth.

  1. Unique Book Club Approach: We use carefully selected books to bring learning to life, sparking curiosity, and a love of reading.
  2. Neuroscience-Backed: Our curriculum is designed with the latest brain research to optimise learning and development.
  3. Holistic Development: We focus on 12 key areas crucial for success in the 21st century, including emotional intelligence, resilience, creativity, and more.
  4. Personalised Learning: Your child progresses at their own pace through our flexible pathways, ensuring they’re always challenged and engaged.
  5. Engaging and Interactive: Live classes, workshops, and capstone projects make learning fun and memorable.

SisuBloom stands out due to its book club approach underpinned by a neuroscience-based curriculum, which helps children understand how they learn while providing them with practical skills like financial literacy and goal setting. The programme integrates research-backed activities, such as brain training exercises and goal-setting techniques, into every module, helping children apply what they learn in real-world scenarios.

Our curriculum includes “neuroscience hacks” like spaced repetition, attentional narrowing, active recall, and exercises that promote neuroplasticity—helping children improve memory, focus, and critical thinking. These strategies ensure that children retain and apply what they learn effectively.

The curriculum spans 12 core modules, covering 4 key areas:

1.Resilience and Perseverance: Developing the ability to bounce back from challenges, sustain motivation, and grow through adversity.

2.Self-Discipline and Emotional Regulation: Cultivating habits of self-control, managing emotions effectively, and building productive routines.

3. Mindfulness and Well-being: Enhancing focus, reducing stress, and fostering mental and physical health through mindfulness practices.

4. Self-Awareness and Personal Identity: Understanding personal strengths, values, and identity to foster confidence and purpose.

5. Effective Communication: Building clear, confident speaking and active listening skills for effective interactions.

6. Empathy and Social Skills: Strengthening emotional intelligence, understanding others’ perspectives, and building meaningful relationships.

7. Critical and Creative Thinking: Encouraging curiosity, logical reasoning, and innovative problem-solving.

8. Problem-Solving: Teaching structured approaches to identifying, analysing, and addressing challenges.

9. Decision-Making: Empowering children to evaluate options, consider consequences, and make informed choices.

10. Financial Literacy: Introducing basic concepts of earning, saving, spending, and budgeting to encourage responsible money management.

11. Entrepreneurship: Inspiring creative thinking and innovation, teaching the basics of planning, and encouraging entrepreneurial problem-solving.

12. Leadership and Teamwork: Equipping children with the skills to lead, collaborate effectively, and navigate group dynamics constructively.

How are the modules structured for different age groups?

We’ve designed SisuBloom with four levels of learning, each tailored to a specific age range:

Focuses on foundational skills, introducing key concepts through engaging activities and stories. Download brochure.

Sisu Adventurers (Ages 9-11):
Builds on the foundation, encouraging exploration, problem-solving, and greater independence. Download brochure.

Sisu Navigators (Ages 12-14):

Each module concludes with a capstone project that lets children apply what they’ve learned. For example, in the financial literacy module, they might create a budget or a mini-business plan. In resilience training, they might set and track a personal goal, reflecting on their progress. These projects help reinforce learning and boost confidence.

Capstone projects are fun, hands-on projects that allow children to demonstrate their learning and express their creativity. They’re a chance to apply their new skills in a meaningful way.

The Passion Project is a unique opportunity for 15-17 year olds to make a real-world impact.
They’ll identify a cause they’re passionate about and use their SisuBloom skills to create positive change in their community or the wider world.

A baseline is established with the child and parents. Children then set and work towards personal goals within each module, and their progress is measured through project submissions, daily reflections, and session participation. Parents receive regular updates, and we conduct six-week check-ins to discuss the child’s growth and address any areas of concern.

Yes, reading is integral to the programme. Each child is encouraged to read two books per month as part of our book club model. These books align with the module themes, reinforcing concepts like resilience, emotional intelligence, and financial literacy. Children reflect on their readings and discuss insights during programme workshop sessions.

Each module features a carefully selected book that explores key life skills. Our expert educators lead engaging online classes where children discuss the book, participate in interactive activities, and apply the concepts to their own lives.

In collaboration with the child, parents, and SisuBloom, children earn points based on their engagement, project completion, and participation. High achievers can earn Roblox credits, etc, which serve as an added incentive for consistent effort. Points also build accountability, as children learn the importance of following through on their commitments.

If a child misses an assignment, they lose points for that month. This teaches accountability and helps them develop a sense of responsibility. Our coaches provide constructive feedback and encouragement to keep them on track, and children are given a chance to catch up if they fall behind.

Parents play an active role in SisuBloom. They complete an initial questionnaire to help us understand their child’s unique strengths and goals, and every six weeks, parents join a progress meeting to review their child’s growth. Parents also have the option to provide feedback on programme structure and content.

Children follow two routines daily:

ARISE Routine: A morning framework children can customise their routines based on their preferences and time available.

No prior experience or specific skills are required. The programme is designed for all levels, and our instructors tailor activities to each child’s developmental stage and interest. All children need is an eagerness to learn, grow, and participate actively in the programme.

The programme is flexible to fit various schedules. Children participate in weekly workshop sessions, spend time on capstone projects, and complete daily reflections. Altogether, the commitment is roughly 3-5 hours per week, depending on the module and the child’s pace.

The programme offers live, interactive sessions only. The live sessions covers essential life skills, focus on discussions, project work, and skill-building exercises that cover foundational topics. SisuBloom hopes to offer pre-recorded resources in the future.

Yes, SisuBloom offers a free 7 day trial month’s commitment  period where children can participate in sample sessions and projects. This allows parents and children to experience the programme’s structure, content, and approach before making a commitment.

You can enrol by selecting our “cancel-at-anytime” paid subscription and completing our online questionnaire, which is available on the SisuBloom website.
